under the umbrella of the Men’s Fellowship was “A Night of Elegance”. Tony Smith and Friends were our featured
artists. We enlisted the Young People of Macedonia as Waiters and Waitresses, and we couldn’t have asked for a
more professional crew. The night was a success, but we didn’t realize how much work it actually entailed. We
spoke with Rev. Tweed the following Sunday, and discussed becoming an official Club. On September 23, 2002 we
were read into the Official Board as a new club. The ministry that we serve within Macedonia AME Church is one of
Christian Fellowship and fun.We enlisted some help from our “friends” – Chiquita Carter, Darlene Green, Joleen
Martin, Tim Martin, Tony Smith, Venise Smith and Willie Smith and KiMiCyBo officially became KiMiCyBo & Friends.
Our first affair as a new club was the “70’s Luau”. For those of you who missed Leatha Davidson as Ella Fitzgerald,
Donald Scavella as Ray Charles or even Arlene Glaspy as Patti LaBelle along with many many more stars that graced
our stage, it is still talked about as Macedonia becoming young again.
To continue to expand the KiMiCyBo & Friends fellowship to include all ages, we thought we would do something
special for the Youth and Young Adults of Macedonia Church. We came up with a “Spiritual Weekend with Fun”. At
first we thought we would just take the youth up to the mountains and let them run wild, but after some harsh words
from our Advisor, we came up with camping. During this weekend, Rev. Tweed and Rev. Graves will come up and
spend an hour and a half with the guys and gals, just rapping. Also during the weekend there will be loads of
activities such as Hiking, Swimming, Volleyball, Basketball, Team Building and too many more to name. Proceeds
from all of KiMiCyBo & Friends affairs goes to the rental of the bus and the expenses for the Youth or Young Adult of
Macedonia who would like to go.
KiMiCyBo was established in December 2001. We had just finished participating in the
Catherine Treadwell’s Calendar Tea and had gotten such raves for our table that after the event,
we decided we would form a group. The name KiMiCyBo came on a whim, one evening while
Bobbi and Mitch were sitting watching TV. The name KiMiCyBo stands for William King (with an
emphasis on the KI), James Mitchell (with an emphasis on the MI), Cynthia Whitfield (with an
emphasis on the CY) and BobbiAnn Mitchell (with an emphasis on the BO). Put that together
and you get KiMiCyBo. For our first endeavor as a club we tried to think of something unique and
different. William King mentioned that no club had ever given an elegant affair with a 4 course
meal at the church. We accepted the challenge and "A Night of Elegance" was the idea. We
would do everything in elegance, using china and waiters and askedwould do everything in
elegance, using china and waiters and asked everyone to dress in formal attire
and come out for an evening of food, fun and fellowship. Our first affair was given
